Triptych 116, Christ as the Good Shepherd

Hildreth Meière based Triptych 116 on John 10:11, inscribing below the painted scene: I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD. THE GOOD SHEPHERD GIVETH HIS LIFE FOR HIS SHEEP.1

This triptych, painted in soft colors, was sent to Kelly Field, Texas in 1944. It was given to Trinity Episcopal Church in Roslyn, New York in 1946.2 Meière painted a variation of the same subject for Triptych 405.
